ISM 100
Crafted specifically for the alumni of the Indian Institute of Mines, the ‘ISM 100’ is an initiative that’s close to heart for the team at Ekalavya. Since its inception in 1926, students of IIT (ISM), have been playing a vital role in the mineral, mining, petroleum and energy sector. Every day, they work in tough conditions in the most remote corners of the nation to fulfill energy requirements.
Today, while we prepare to celebrate 100 years of ISM, we invite the alumni of this prestigious institute to join hands with TEI towards a cause no one else dares to partake in: educating the unprivileged, opportunity-scare children residing in these very coal belts.
ISM 100 is an initiative that will impact teachers, students and communities. The goal of the program is two-fold:
Identify schools from the coal belt of India that could benefit from Ekalavya’s programs (such as Shikshak Shakti or Roshni Master Class which help young learners develop on par with children studying in private schools, thereby increasing their chances of building more promising professional careers in the future)
Become a Master Mentor to help expand the reach and availability of these programs in rural India
